kingofspiritsandflames inquired: "Your eye. Yoh, what happened?" He was serious - he would know what happened and which one of his men had hit the boy.

霊 —;;“Nii-chan…” he mumbled. “Think they got mad cause I said you looked girly with your long hair and all… Didn’t mean it in a bad way… But guess they didn’t listen to my explanation of that.”

霊 —;; This boy, he smelled of death. For Yoh that was both scary and welcomed, so why didn’t he feel like running. A head tilt as he sighed. “What do you want…?” the child shaman really didn’t want to be bothered just yet, maybe he didn’t know what Yoh was capable of…

He didn’t need to watch the hand to feel it shaking. He would probably be this way until they arrived back at Tokyo. Yoh would probably be settled in by the time they went to America to gather more companions - hopefully he would be, by then.

“I can’t really say anything to make you feel better… because I know words in this situation are meaningless.” He could promise all the best things in the world, but it didn’t mean they would happen. “But I gather a lot of people like us. People with no place to go, or the ones who need to get away… People who are dying… Even the life we live is better than what most of us been through. But it’s normal to be afraid in a situation like this.”

霊 —;; “Words… Are always meaningless." he agreed tiredly."I trust you… But, ’m still scared of the what future might hold." he admitted quietly. "I mean I know I said I never want to return, but I’ll miss my family here…" He just wanted to feel safe again, like he mattered a bit of stability in his life.

"If they’re dying… Is it so wise to become attached…? I know we are shamans to commune with spirits, but… Doesn’t it hurt to watch one die?" he questioned, feeling almost a bit of warmth and pity for the one next to him.

kingofspiritsandflames:

His attention moved to the direction Yoh was coming from, the boy having been late but also having arrived at all. Again, he was speaking a hushed tone, almost as if he were afraid of something. It was fine… He wouldn’t have any fear much longer. The people back in Tokyo who he’d grouped together would get along with him fine.

“I’m here.” He brought himself over to where Yoh was, eyes moving toward the nearby clock. “We have ten more minutes until the train is back.” He looked back to the other boy, the sullen look almost disappointing. “You don’t need to come back. Once you leave here, you’re free. And… I’ll tell you what I should once we’re on the train.” He hadn’t really expected Yoh to be fine going off with a total stranger, but it seemed he trusted him. At least, the feeling of being trusted… was not a bad one.

霊 —;;“Mom and Grandpa were left a note, the rest of my time was spent alerting the lady here and  few other spirits I talk to. Then I packed what I valued and left." he admitted quietly. He was grateful, immensely so for what the other was doing for him. "Mom’d have never agreed to this… But for some reason… I don’t care. Better that I leave, go where nobody’ll know ’m some kinda freak than stay here." he whispered.

He placed a shaking hand in Hao’s, grasping the other’s hand for sheer comfort, trying to act like he wasn’t terrified or worried of what may come next. He didn’t even care if this man killed him, so long as he got away with somebody who’d actually been nice to him.

kingofspiritsandflames:

“One day… That’s fine. I’ll come back for you then.” He’d always intended to have Yoh return to him, but not this soon. An accident… that had turned out the way he wanted it to. However things played out from there, and in the future, he could worry about later. Right now, he was gathering companions for the Fight in a few years’ time. It required traveling, but it was worth it. “I have… something to tell you at that time. So please don’t stand me up or forget.”

image

霊 —;; Maybe he was an hour or so late, but he carried a backpack full of stuff he still desired to keep, stuff he’d bring along. A note had been left for his parents as he headed for the station.

“Hao…?” he called out, the first time he called for the other, the first time he’d wanted to see the other. He was ready to leave and honestly who’d ever be able to blame him? “I’ve returned to follow you – Wherever you go…” he finally whispered. “I don’t want to be here any longer, nor do I desire to ever come back.”

kingofspiritsandflames:

“You’re shackled down by other people. Doesn’t that make you suffer even more?” He’d been free and on his own for a long time now, and powerful enough to handle anything after the fact of a killing. He hadn’t been sure what to expect upon seeing the other half of his soul after ten years, but he was indeed… of the same soul. “Yoh? Why not just run away with me? It won’t be just us. I have a lot of other people who have had these problems and have agreed to help me fight in the Shaman Fight a few years from now. You can finally open up to people and be who you want to be. You won’t have to hide anymore.”

image

霊 —;; It struck through him like a chord those words. What the other said and somehow, deep in heart he believed what the other said.

‘You can finally open up to people and be who you want to be. You won’t have to hide anymore.’

“I… I’d like that… But can I think about it some first…?" he questioned. To at least tell his mom and grandfather good-bye in his own way. He could leave a note and pack a few things, not much… Because there wasn’t much he wanted to keep other than CDs and his walkman. "I’ll meet you here again… In one day. Will that be alright…?" He would come, he would. But he wanted to make things right first.
